Today we are going to talk about friends and what it means to be a friend. Who are our friends? They are the people in our lives that we can talk to, play with, go places and do things with. You are all friends together in this room, and many of you will continue to grow through dbKids together and your friendships will grow. That’s what God designed!

I am not alone.
God made us for community. He made us to live in relationship with Him and in community with other believers. His design is for faithful believers to encourage one another, share one another’s burdens, and pray for one another. In Christ, we are surrounded by a community of faithful believers, the church, that love and encourage us to follow and obey God. Even when people hurt us, we are called to forgive and love them as Christ loves the church. The church is a family, not a social group or club. Family is forever and God calls us to forgive one another and pursue reconciliation. Sometimes it’s difficult to truly love others the way Jesus did, but that’s what makes the church different.
