Book Looks

Launching January 1st!!

Why Books?

Reading together provides an amazing opportunity for families to grow closer while also building skills in children (big & small!). Life gets busy and we can quickly miss out on seemingly small moments that actually create deep bonds within the household. Sharing a story together is one of those small moments. Younger children can learn about shapes, colors, relationships, and begin learning how language works. Older kids grow in comprehension and reflective skills to eventually help them navigate life. Just as important is the time spent together- building lasting memories of comfort and knowing that they are important enough for YOU to spend time with. Those skills and connection are building blocks for how the child(ren) in your life will ultimately relate to our Father in Heaven.

How it Works:

1. The books!
Each month DBKids will post a recommended read for your family. We have carefully selected engaging picture books with Christ and God as the centerpiece. The suggested book can be borrowed from a library, found online as an audiobook or ebook, or purchased to add to your home collection.

2. The guides!
Your family is uniquely and wonderfully made! Each household has diverse needs, which is why DBKids aims to offer a buffet of resources easy to tailor to your family. With that in mind, we’ve created monthly companion guides for engaging books the bring Jesus into the simplest moments.

Each booklet comes with 3 variations and a “Go Deeper” section to utilized based on your families life stage. Littles, Middles, & Bigs provide Bible references with age-appropriate tips for engaging in conversation and praying together, all based on the recommended read. Dig into the “Go Deeper” content alongside the monthly book or as a stand-alone family study to learn more about God’s nature and character..

3. Feedback!
DBKids wants to equip parents and guardians to feel comfortable and empowered as the shepherds in their homes. We have big plans to continue creating “building blocks” to help families in two ways:
1. Build deep relationships with each other
2. Form the foundation necessary for kids to become genuine followers of Christ

Please share your thoughts (both critiques and praises) HERE so we can continue to develop the tools your family needs.
